Youth Employment Program (YEP)
YEP is a community-sponsored program that provides opportunities for training, work and volunteer experiences that support future successful careers.
Teens choose their level of participation, attend workshops and courses, earn money and learn the value of effective communication, networking and community involvement. Through YEP, teens can gain employment preparation certifications at a subsidized cost. All volunteer opportunities completed go towards graduation requirements.
YEP provides clients with quick and affordable help around their homes or businesses, and assists seniors who are physically limited or financially compromised. On-call, paid work experience is available in a variety of fields, including yard maintenance, painting, carpentry, computers, household technology, clerical tasks, indoor cleaning, pet care, babysitting and more.
If you are between the ages of 14 and 18 and are educated within School District #63, pick up an application package at your school’s career office or click the link below for an application form. There is no fee to enroll, but you will be encouraged to volunteer at community events. Monthly e-mails are sent out containing information about upcoming certificate courses and community volunteer opportunities.
