Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels has been serving the Greater Victoria area for over 40 years. Along with our new meal provider, Chef on the Run in Oak Bay, and with the help of over 250 volunteers, we deliver nourishing meals to those in need of our service.

Who We Serve

We serve residents of Greater Victoria, the Saanich Peninsula, and the Western Communities.

Requests for service may be made by phone by the individual, a friend or family member, physician,
health or social agency by calling 250-595-6650.

Meal Delivery

Fresh meals are delivered between 11am and 1pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Meals are ready to heat in the oven or microwave. Clients must be available to receive the meal in person, or arrange with our staff to have a designated neighbour accept the meal. Each meal contains a main entree and delicious dessert. The meals are freshly prepared and distributed over lunchtime 3 days a week by our caring and dedicated volunteers.

Caring Volunteers

Beacon volunteers add a personal touch by phoning clients for a daily chat, to make sure that everything is okay, and to reduce the loneliness and isolation of some members of our community. When the need is indicated, our volunteers initiate a call for help on behalf of the client.

Cost of Service

The current cost of a fresh and delicious main course meal and dessert is $9.00.

Clients pay by cheque upon receipt of a monthly invoice. We also accept Visa and Mastercard payments over the phone.
